Student Value:GRIT
January is the month that sets up our kids martial arts program for the new year. Thats the reason why it’s number 1 in our student values.
GRIT
Author Angela Duckworth defines GRIT as, “perseverance and passion for long-term goals.” She found that people with GRIT have a much better chance at succeeding in whatever endeavor they pursue as opposed to people who lack grit.
Every week we will talk about different topics or codes that make up our student values. Our first week this month we are teach the kids the importance of Perseverance.
We related the importance of having Perseverance not just in Jiu Jitsu, but also at home, and school.
Kids will want to give up the moment they get challenge. We teach them that nothing good comes from giving up.
We are setting up your kids for long term success. That is the goal of our kids martial arts program.
The beauty of our kids program is that your child will continually be challenged. We give them the tools to face these challenges head on and insure their success.
We want the kids in our Jiu Jitsu classes get used to being challenged, and have them rise to the challenge and have a blueprint on how they will overcome.
We teach them the steps they need to overcome any challenge.
- ID the challenge
- Make a plan
- Ask if the plan is the right one to tackle the problem
- Execute the plan
- Ask and adjust the plan if needed
We just won’t teach your child a bunch of cool Jiu Jitsu techniques, but they will learn how Jiu Jitsu translates to their daily lives.
